Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema is a player for the Spanish football team Real Madrid. He was born on December 19, 1987. He is a striker on this team and one of their most recognized players for his overall value. Karim Benzema was in the youth academy and quickly rose to the senior levels. He was capped by France.

Karim Benzema graduated from the Lyon Academy and has a very disciplined mentally. This has been combined with his talent and strength to give him a force that many other players can’t compete with. It seems that no matter what the situation is on the field he is able to find a way to shine and to give an ultimate performance.

In January of 2005 Karim Benzema played in his debut. He was called in to play and even though Lyon won he was able to offer some great assists. Many felt that if he had played the entire game then he would be able to win the game for them. While the hands of time can’t be turned back that was a great point where other teams started to take a notice in him.

The #10 jersey is what he was given and he has really taken off as a team player. Karim Benzema responded well to the direction of the coach with 31 goals out of 50 games. Several of them were in champion games. He has been noted to be a player that does well under pressure. Lyon was very happy with the status they had earned. This led them to really want to keep him as a player but by then other teams had their eyes on Benzema as well.

Karim Benzema was the top goal scorer for the 2007 to 2008 season. This was only 3 years after he hit the senior level. This was the season that helped him to get a new contract as well as many great awards. Today he is one of the highest paid players after signing with the Real Madrid in 2009. He has a 6 year contract with them at this point in time that may be renewed based upon overall performance during the span of the initial contract.

In July of 2009 the transfer of him from Lyon was very high. This was upsetting to many fans. They felt that the incentives Real Madrid offered were above and beyond what Lyon could offer to keep him. In spite of the upset that occurred for fans though there was no shortage of great fans that came to see him get his jersey at the stadium for the Real Madrid team.

Karim Benzema was immediately well liked due to scoring early on in preseason and league games. Some of them were against severe rivals of Real Madrid so the glory of those wins really assisted with proving him as a great asset to the overall team. He has even had to play some games against old teammates. Yet he has done so with class and dedication that proves him to be a great character personally and professionally.

Karim Benzema is one of the players for Real Madrid that you want to keep your eye on. He has been proven as a leader both on the field and with the other players. He continues to challenge his own abilities and to work with the coaches to make improvements. He has his eye on some titles and wants them year after year. There is no doubt in the minds of many that he will be able to make it happen. The season is already shaping up to be very exciting for Karim Benzema.
